I work about 30 hours a week as a budding network administrator. For those of you who don't know, this is basically a somewhat glorified title for someone who fools around with computers all day, trying to make them work properly in conjunction with one another, which is more or less what I do... I'm a software developer by trade. My last few projects have all been based on building COM components for web sites. Working on Windows 98 at home and NT 4.0 at work, I got used to dealing with differences in implementation between the Windows and NT lines and their various workarounds. Still,... Microsoft Windows 2000 Server is a huge operating system and it is clear that the guys at Microsoft have put an immense amount of time and effort into it. I can tell you right now, this is going to be a TOUGH e-pinion to write. I'll try to make it as "brief" as possible and not bore you. There's SO much to talk about with Win2k, there's no way a single e-pinion can discuss it all.

I'm an IT guy. I've been doing IT for quite some time now... Read full review »

Months and months were put in to making Windows 2000. Basically all of microsofts human resources went into it. So did Microsoft waste their time in this project or did they do something worth while?
