Pros Great bang for the buck.
Cons few minor flaws but for this price... no big deal.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  I would buy these speakers again easily. Great price for a good product. The few minor flaws are easily looked past.
was looking for a cheap set of speakers for a computer I was building and saw these for 60 bucks so figured it was worth a shot to purchase them. They are being driven by a SoundBlaster x-fi platinum.

With the satellites they have decent midrange and treble to them but no bass at all to them. I mean no bass at all. Now I know the sub is there to handle that but having some bass would be nice. The sub is a little boomy at times. Even more so when trying to play some music with a lot of bass in it. At other times the sub will get a little flabby with some heavy deep bass lines. Part of that can be attributed to room acoustics. Since I have moved the sub it has toned down a little but still a little boomy/flabby. All this and the bass knob on the sub was almost all the way down.

With the mating of how well the sub and the satellites is there is a little bit of a flat spot that isn't too noticeable at most time but there are moments when it is very obvious.

There are no controls for either midrange, or treble leaving some flat spots near the low end of the frequency response where the sub and the satellites SHOULD match up.

The sound stage is actually quite good in the front for these speakers even with only using two of them. Very wide up front with decent placement of the sound relative to the action. When playing music using the full surround sound is very good as far as immersing you with sound from all angles the one flaw though comes for gaming. The sound from the back doesn't have to be loud when playing music to get that surround but with most every game I have played the sound from the back is just about impossible to really hear unless you crank the sound way up.

Don't be mislead either by the small wattage this thing puts out either it gets loud easily for how small all this is.

I know my review sounds like a bash of this but those are the flaws that I have seen but I like to knit pick as well. Though these are cheap speakers and you can't expect them to perform flawless and perfect for this price. For the price they are in though they are great. Sure I would like another set of speakers but for 60 bucks these things perform more then I thought they would.
