Unreliable... don't waste your time or money
I bought this drive and it failed after only two months; I called customer support and was told to send it in for a replacement, only to be told that my drive was out of warranty... after just two months? I definitely would not recommend buying this drive, and I will not be purchasing any more... Read full review »
I will never buy a WD disk drive again
after working flawlessly for 8 months, the drive just stopped from booting WinXP this morning, after a couple of hours, BIOS stopped from detecting the drive. Lost +100GB of data without a single warning :( Never had such a crash with Seagate. This is the first a last WD disk drive I'll ever buy. Read full review »
Don't use in Raid 0 array
My 2 drives died after 2 weeks because of a known problem with compatibility with raid 0. I dont know how extensive the problem is, but techs at Western Digital told me I should try to sell the replacement drives I am getting as they don't support Raid. Use SATA instead. Don't use this drive for your business work
I bought this hard drive because it had a 3-year warranty and I've heard good words about Western Digital drives. It turns out those words totally contradict my experience with one of these I bought in September 2003.

This is a nice drive, but...it acted funky
I DO like this hard drive....BUT, after 4 weeks or more or less normal (meaning on 65-75% of the time)use, it started to make this clicking noise and took more than a few seconds to respond when reading/writing data.
