Does what it says
Pros
great size, great sound quality, easy setup
Cons
No input for sound, but that's not the intent for this item
Recommended it?
Yes
My sound on my laptop was on it's last leg (noise and distortion coming from mini jack). I had long debated getting the Audigy PCMCIA card from Sound Blaster, but finally came upon this little gem.
To put it simply, this item performs exactly as you'd hope it would. It's a straightforward install, then you simply insert the USB adapter into your laptop and viola, pristine, clear sound.
I use Etymotic ER6 in-ear headphones and am very satisfied with the sound quality. Also, the fact that it comes with a Toslink (optical digital) adapter is a very nice perk for pure digital transfers.
I'm glad I didn't fork over the $100 plus to get the Soundblaster. I am, however, without an audio input (analog or digital), but that's not what this item promotes (thus the price tag).
