Sony SLV-N750 is good enough for me.
A VCR is tough to find these days, and the Sony SLV-N750 was literally my only option. My husband and I received a DVD player as a wedding gift, but then our old VCR did not work with our new TV. As a result, we needed a VCR only as a combo DVD/VCR would have given us two DVD players and that would... Read full review »
A Decent Product for Old Technology
I bought this VCR two months ago, when my old clunker finally had enough. My last VCR, also a Sony, lasted for almost ten years. There were years of heavy usage, and then a significant dropoff after the release of DVD movies. However, I was impressed with its length of service, so I decided to buy... Read full review »
Sony SLV-N750 VHS Cheaply Made - Poor Image Quality!
My beloved older JVC VCR got dropped and died after wards, thrusting me suddenly into the market for a replacement VCR. What a shock note the severe drop in quality of most VCRs now sold!! Especially if you want to buy a stand alone model without a DVD. Having purchased and loved Sony products... Read full review »
Not what it seems: pretty poor
The number of VCRs on the market today can be counted on the fingers of one hand. The Sony SLV-N750 appears to be less flimsy than the sadly degraded products made by Panasonic like the current PV-V4524. The Sony's better build and higher price may mean a longer life, but its layout and performance... Read full review »
Gets the job done, plus some rare extras
Our old Magnavox VCR died after two moves across America and about 8 years of use. We were fans of the OC. We had to be out of town. So, with only three days til the season premiere and twelve blank VHS tapes, we had to get a new VCR, fast.
Like many of my fellow reviewers, this literally...

Low Quality High Speed VCR
This is a low quality VCR. Sony should be ashamed. The high speed FF/rewind is great. An 8-hr. (T160) tape rewinds in about a minute, except for when the gears slip and makes a loud buzz-saw sound.
The remote is hard to use because you have to point it directly at the VCR or it will not...

Sony SLV-N750 VHS Very nice, solid VCR
This is just the first day with my new Sony, and I can already tell it's a winner. I tried several VCR's from Best Buy. Before opening the box I'd check epinions, and they all had bad reviews.
It's hard to find VCR's these days. The last VCR I got from Best Buy, it was a cheap Magnavox that...

SLV-N750: VCR Player: Update: Still Works!!
SLV-N750 Review.
I'd write a longer review of this product but other Epinion reviewers have beaten me to the punch. Seems they have a bit more time on their hands and much more familiarity with this product than me.
Thus far, after three months usage, no complaints, but,...

Pure Junk
I should have listened to the reviewers about this PoS. Playback and recording quality is awful. VCR cannot decide where it is getting input from so if you have a DVD player, and a video camera plugged into it, it will randomly shut off the picture as if there is no input signal. Even if you only... Read full review »
Not compatible with Directv Tivo...
Buyer Beware. The N750 will not record off the Directv Tivo hard drive in color. Why? Who knows, certainly not Sony, which denies there's a problem despite post after post on various websites from affected owners (check out Tivo community). Sony's only offer, spend another $45 to $80 dollars... Read full review »
