If you are in the market for a new DVD burner or even just a better one, get this drive. It's outstanding.
With all the DVD burning I've been doing over the past year or so, I decided it was time to upgrade the TDK DVD burner that I had. I wanted a drive that supports DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW as well as dual layer discs. I also wanted a drive that would produce high quality discs with very few errors. After reading many reviews and seeing the great reviews on the NEC ND3500, I decided to go for the 3520A. I'm definitely glad I did. Since I received my drive, I have burned around 100 or so discs on all different media and have NOT had even one bad copy. It's very unusual for a drive to be like that. I've always had bad/ruined copies of discs with every other DVD or CD burner I've had in the past. This drive is also extremely fast with all media. On an interesting side note, it's also the only drive (or WAS the only one at the time I bought it) that will be able to write to dual layer DVD-R in the future. Since this drive sells for around $55 or so, I can't see any reason not to get this drive. It's simply THAT good. It writes just about every type of media flawlessly and does it fast !
