I bought two of these wheel optical mice to replace my unreliable and inaccurate trackball mice. I got tired of having to maintain them more often than I would want to. With these wheel optical mice, no regular maintenance or cleaning needed, no mouse pads required, no more frustrations trying to... Read full review »

Pros Everything!
Cons None that I can see!

When we needed another new mouse, my husband decided he wanted to go optical and started looking around. He came home with the Microsoft MS Wheel Mouse Optical and I have been very happy with it.

I always hated having to clean our mouse every week because of dust and cat fur, now I don't... Read full review »

Pros cost
Cons not good if the mouse is moving too quickly
Recommended it? Yes

Mom's computer started doing all kinds of bizarre things that made it near to impossible to work with. The final decision was that my aunt - who had built the computer - would take it back to her place and fix it. Besides reinstalling windoze, the machine came back with some new toys attached, too... cheap optical performance

bykinsiderby Apr 20, 2002
17 Helpfuls 18 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros cheap, optical, works
Cons can loose tracking at high speeds
Recommended it? Yes

I've had this mouse for 8 months; it still works like new. I purchased it for $25 Canadian at Futureshop.

It uses optical technology so dirt won't jam and impede movement like a conventional mouse. This allows for consistently smooth tracking, which is especially important on things like... Read full review »

The Eunuch Mouse

Pros A good all round mouse
Cons Not too robust allegedly...mine seems fine though, roller a little 'rattly'
Recommended it? Yes

I've always employed some kind of reverse snobbery when it comes to things like PC mice. As long as it feels comfortable to use then I've been more than happy to spend my $3 on it whilst others have spent fortunes on mice packed full of the kind of bells and whistles which have always seemed... Pros Good functioning, Good style for the office, Optical capability
Cons None whatsoever.
Recommended it? Yes

I purchased about 20 of these mice for the office I once worked for. I wanted to slowly replace the ball mouses we had with a more modern looking mouse that my coworkers would be happy with.
What's great is when the lights were dimmed in the office at around 5:30PM, the back underside of the... Read full review »

Bought as a quick replacement to the old ball mouse that accumulated several kilos of dust, the Microsoft wheel optical is the first optical mouse in the house.

When plugged in, it was detected and automatically installed in a breeze, with the red glow lighting up immediately. The... Read full review »

Pros Simple, inexpensive, durable, far outlasted my ball-mice.
Cons None.
Recommended it? Yes

After wearing through three or four regular roller-mice within a year (each one's internal rollers wearing out distressingly quickly with normal but intensive usage), I finally tried out one of these optical mice (i.e, no moving parts), and was very pleased with the results. My first Microsoft... Read full review »

Perfect simple mouse

Pros Very precise, and it does not have a ball that needs cleaning.
Cons none
Recommended it? Yes

I use to have te normal mouse and the ball needs to be clean. It traps dirt and it will cause the cursor to jump like a real mouse.
But finally, I gave up on that and got this optical mouse. It is the best investment. It never need cleaning, and it never jumps.
Installation was very easy... Read full review »
