It's a neckset, not a headset

Pros It wasn't the most expensive.
Cons 3.5mm plug only, painful neckband with no adjustment, crackly and bad microphone.
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  Don't touch this. I went back to my old Altec Lansing headset which was 20 bucks, comfortable and with better sound and microphone.
Just got a MagicJack for my laptop (looking good so far but that's another review) so I wanted to get a good gaming headset for my desktop and use the old Altec Lansing headset to make phone calls on my laptop.

I went to BestBuy and was surprised to see so few options.  There were a few $80+ sets but I went for the Logitech Digital Precision Gaming Headset. Why? because I like the Logitech mouse so thought I'd get the same quality.  BestBuy had it for $29.99

Setup
The neckset comes in the ubiquitous bubble pack so there's the usual struggle getting it open without damaging it or yourself.

There is a very brief instruction booklet and no other contents apart from the neckset.

It has two 3.5mm color coded connectors for earpeice (black) and microphone (pink) to plug into your PC.
WARNING: There is nothing on the packaging about the connectors and of course they're hidden inside the packaging. The Logitech website says this comes with an "included plug-and-play USB adapter" but mine didn't. BE CAREFUL IF YOU WANT A USB HEADSET!

I was already using a headset so I just replugged and it worked. Depending on your O/S you may need to reconfigure your PC to get it to use a headset.  If you have problems there's a support page and forums on the Logitech website www.logitech.com

On the cable between plugs and neckset is a volume control (not easy to operate) and a microphone mute switch.

Operation
So just put the headset on your head... but wait! It's not a headset and won't fit over your head. The only way to wear it is with the rigid band (there is ZERO adjustment) between earpieces running around the back of your neck. This means if you lean back in your chair, like I did, it tries to push your ears off.

The microphone is on a swivel so adjusts up and down BUT it is on a rigid plastic projection so you can't twist closer to your mouth.

Make sure you have a Logitech sized neck and you talk out the corner of your mouth before buying this.

In game the earpiece was crackly. I tried reseating the plugs and playing with the volume control but that made no difference.  The microphone, even with maximum recording volume and Boost set on in Windows XP, was faint.

Conclusion
If you have a Logitech sized neck, wear horsehair shirts and prefer two tin cans and a taught piece of string over a telephone then you might like this product.

It's painful to wear, has zero adjustment, crackles and has a quiet microphone.
