Pros
Fast and easy set-up. Easy storage. Cleans all floor surfaces great. Highly recommend.
Cons
Heavy to carry up/down stairs when full. Attachment tool setup too tedious.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Works great and easy to setup, use, and store. Well worth $99 price from Best Buy. We WILL recommend to family and friends.
This cleaner is great.
My wife says it's the best household carpet cleaner she has ever used and even rivals some commercial units we have used in the past.
Her only 2 minor complaints are that its relatively heavy if carrying up/down stairs when full, and the hand tool setup is a bit tedious. (We will continue to use a different compact unit for upholstery, car, and quick spill pick-ups.)
As a straight-up carpet cleaner, she is 100% satisfied. She can do all the carpets in the house herself, in about half the time it used to take both of us, and she's not tired or have a back ache when done! (Selfishly - the best part is she doesn't need my help!)
She even finds that it does an excellent job on the kitchen floor and other hard surface floors in the house without any additional attachments. Everything we read about the hard floor attachment says don't waist the money and just use the machine as-is on hard floors. - she agrees. Just use the right liquid cleaner for the right floor type and away you go! The built in brushes scrub the floor and the dirty water is sucked away.
Setup is super fast and easy. Cleanup and storage is about 10-minutes start-to-finish, following owner's manual recommendation to rinse tanks and clean brushes.
The cord is nice and long, the way it should be.
Storage is easy since the unit is self contained.
There is a 1 year mfg. warranty.
A couple of additional comments: we don't believe this unit actually heats the water as you need to put hot water in the tank. We believe calling this unit a "steam cleaner" is a bit of a liberal use of the word "steam", especially since there are so many actual steam cleaners on the market today.
Lastly the "heated drying" feature is essentially the motor's exhaust directed at the floor to aid in drying. We believe this design definitely does work to aid in drying the carpet/floor surface, but is the result of smart engineering that directs motor airflow towards the carpet/floor, vs. any special feature designed specifically to dry the carpet/floor.
Bottom line: the cleaner works great and was well worth the $99 we paid from Best Buy. I will recommend to friends and family.
I should also mention we are pet owners and the machine handles all pet hair, stains, and odors with no problem. We don't even bother with the cleaner specifically designed for pet owners. We think the regular cleaner does such a good job we probably won't spend the extra money for the specially formulated pet cleaner.
