NEW WINTV-PVR-150 TV Tuner Recorder PCI w Remote Sealed Retail Box The Amity2 TV tuner board is a 32-bit, 33-megahertz (MHz) PCI card. Its basic function is to take audio/video source material either from the on-board TV tuner or one of the external analog A/V sources and encode it into a MPEG-1/2 compliant streams. The data streams are sent over the PCI bus in the compressed form using an internal DMA engine. Displaying the compressed video on the computer screen requires using a software MPEG decoder. Feature Specification PCI Bus The PCI interface and MPEG encoder uses the Conexant CX23416 chip. The encoder channel uses a DMA controller that is used to bus master data to the host. For control purposes, the CX23416 can act as an I²C master to control the tuner, video decoder and audio processor. Additionally, various board control functions are provided by some general-purpose I/O (GPIO) ports on the CX23416.
