Handspring Visor Pro - Update to French Vanilla

byyusakugo Oct 7, 2001
56 Helpfuls 57 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Springboard slot, Palm OS, 16 MB of memory, older Visor accessories fit
Cons Bulkier than other Palm units, Springboards expensive, design same since Visor creation.
Recommended it? Yes

As I write this, a good analogy popped up while reading mkaresh's 2002 Camry epinion. I couldn't help but think of Handspring's latest entry into the market as plain vanilla in the Palm OS hardware world. This isn't to say that the Visor Pro isn't worth it, but the unit has many similarities to the... Read full review »

Pros 16MB, infinite expandability, affordable and rechargeable.
Cons Old School design, still not a color PDA.
Recommended it? Yes

For those who have addresses, appointments, contacts, to do lists, memos and many more to organize your priorities, it?s ideal for them to invest on a PDA. For professionals who are always on the run, have appointments and the organization of the agenda is mandatory, they will need a PDA that can... Read full review »

Handspring Visor: too little, too late.

bykenfused Jun 10, 2002
10 Helpfuls 11 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros 16MB built in memory, Rechargeable battery, Springboard slot
Cons Dated design, Springboard slot
Recommended it? No

The Handspring Visor line has been one of the most successful PDAs ever. Period. Building on the Success of Palm OS, Handspring was an innovator when the Visor was launched about 2 years ago. Since then, they have slipped, in providing new products with innovative features. The Visor Pro gives the... Read full review »

This one will last you a while.

Pros Huge memory, rechargeable, fast processor. GREAT price.
Cons More bulky than some handhelds
Recommended it? Yes

My first Visor was a Platinum and I loved it. The fast Dragonball processor and 8 meg of RAM were well suited to my needs as a student. It kept all my data at my fingertips and was fun to use. I had the flexibility to use it with Outlook and coordinate my email, schedule, task list, address book... Read full review »

Absolutely Awesome PDA!

bylowesman Mar 10, 2002
8 Helpfuls 9 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros More memory than I know what to do with and an attractive platinum case
Cons None
Recommended it? Yes

I recently purchased a Visor Pro as an upgrade from my Visor 2MB that I purchased a year ago. Let me just say that it was one of the best electronics purchases I have ever made!

I keep a great deal of addresses and memos, as well as an extensive appointment calender in my Visor, which... Read full review »

Visor Pro, Power on a Low Budget

bycookie_cool25 Feb 18, 2002
7 Helpfuls 8 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros 16 MB of RAM, Hands-Only Lookup, Rechargeable battery, good price, great monochrome...
Cons Not much in the way of new features, still not upgradable
Recommended it? Yes

Take a springboard slot, a zippy processor, a great monochrome screen and double the memory and you get the appropriately named Handspring Visor Pro. The first thing that'll you'll notice is the 16 mb of RAM. People who use programs like Avantgo or enjoy those large games will particularly... Read full review »

Visor Pro

bykmjackson Dec 18, 2001
7 Helpfuls 8 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Rechargable Battery, 16 MB, Palm OS, Familiar Design
Cons Slightly bulkier than other models.
Recommended it? Yes

The Visor Pro makes the jump to 16 MB. Due to the limitations of Add on Memory this is quite significant. If you plan on using your pda as a repository of databases or lots of raw data the bump to 16 MB will give you a little breathing room. The other great improvement over other models is the... Best Handspring

byjsnorman Oct 19, 2001
7 Helpfuls 8 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Springboard expansion, 16MB, faster processor
Cons Bulky, pricey
Recommended it? Yes

SUMMARY: Among Handspring devices, the Pro is a clear, though pricey, winner if you need to use the Springport expansion slot.

I traded in my Sony Clie to get a Handspring because I knew I wanted to use the 802.11b card that just came out made by Xircom. My choice was between the Palm... Read full review »

Visor Pro now with 16Mb

bydebri Oct 13, 2001
7 Helpfuls 8 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros 16Mb Main Memory, rechargable battery, Palm OS, Springboard modules.
Cons Design could be better, plastic casing, un-handy protective cover.
Recommended it? Yes

This brand new device is not brand new on all it's features. The casing is a bit outdated and the system software is not the latest version either.
Is this bad? I'd say no. The 3.5 version of the software is very stable and it's working perfect with the springboard modules. The more difference... Read full review »

Pro is to Platinum as Neo is to Deluxe

bygorocco Apr 9, 2002
10 Helpfuls 11 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros 16MB RAM, Springboard expansion slot, price
Cons Bulky
Recommended it? Yes

Continuing my quest for a new PDA, I decided to take a look at the latest and greatest in Handspring's Visor line: the Visor Pro. Now that the Visor Neo has replaced both the Deluxe and Platinum models, Handspring needed to up the ante for a new, higher end model. What they came up with is... Read full review »
