then do yourself a favor and buy the Cuisinart DCC-1100. While it does cost more than some of the other brands, it will only be a few cents more a day over the life of the maker...and how many of us have purchased a cheaper one only to realize we almost got what we paid for?

Basic coffee maker
This coffee maker was purchased about 1 1/2 years ago to replace an inexpensive unit that did not keep the coffee hot after brewing. The first cup would be okay but the temperature of the warming plate was unacceptable.

Good coffee, bad design
This machine makes good coffee and brews fairly fast. The problems are in the design. The carafe has a plastic rim that is not sealed to the glass bowl and it leaks coffee from under the rim, down the side of the pot and onto any surface. Don't do it
This coffee maker does make good coffee, BUT it's done before you can finish cleaning up the mess from spilled water and coffee grounds. What a nasty design.
