Compaq 3850... nice design than the 3760 but still lacking.
Well, the iPAQ 3850 has alot of similarities to the 3100, 3600, and 3700 series iPAQs but has a few features that puts it above those models... but not by much. There are two basic models... the 3835 and the 3850. There is no major difference in the hardware specifications for these models. The... Read full review »
iPAQ 3850 - A Desktop stuffed into a PDA
The older I?ve gotten, the more I?ve realized that I need those ?gadgets? that I?ve chided my friends for using years ago. You know what I?m talking about? cell phones? PDAs? laptops? The type of stuff that you would never rightly get on your own for school. Well, it?s now time to add another item... Read full review »
A few minor cons, but still one spectacular PDA!
It had to happen sooner or later...
I had been using my Palm V PDA for a long time. But there was always that one nagging problem that just drove me nuts. The bland, monochrome screen on the Palm device was so difficult to read unless you held it "just right." And don't even get me...

Another Swing at the PPC Industry
The predecessor to the 36xx series iPAQ's, Compaq makes a new, bold enter to the PocketPC 2002 world. They introduce a much needed 16-bit color screen, a built in SD slot, and a newly designed machine that just looks stunning. It is right on par with features compared to other devices, however... I started my recent quest for the perfect handheld with a Sony Clie 610, which... Read full review »

Unbelievably poor quality
My first PC was a Compaq (1984). I'd held a very positive view of the company until my office provided iPAQ 3850s. Actually, provided me three of them within a year, with all three having been returned. With the last two, the battery self destructed and erased all the information. Even when it does...
