The digital camera evolution is just about to peak this year or next and in the wake of such progress, older models become obsolete faster than one can make them worth the money that was spent last year. You can render yourself immune to such inflation by simply ignoring trends for a while. If you... Read full review »

Recently a friend of mine who is also an amateur photographer came to visit. He brought along his brand new toy, a Canon EOS-20D and we spent the better part of a weekend taking shots with it around town. I currently own the Canon EOS 300D (Digital Rebel) and have been drooling over the higher end... Read full review »

Background
I didn't get serious about photography as a hobby until about this time last year. My dad gave me his old Minolta SRT-202 and a few lenses. After a few outings, the camera ended up jamming on me. I upgraded to the Canon Elan 7E soon afterwards. I've had much success with this body,... Read full review »

Pros Canon at the top of their game with a camera for the rest of us!
Cons The shutter is rather loud.

Having enjoyed a career as a fashion photographer for major magazines, my one concern with respect to the equipment that I used was that of achieving maximum quality in my photos. That, eventually, led me to using Leica cameras, with their superb Leitz lenses and shooting on Kodachrome film.

If you've been considering the Canon 20D now is the time to buy one. This high performing digital SLR has been replaced by the 30D, yet both cameras are pretty much the same, except for price. The 20D is now available for under $1,000. Grab it while you can.

This is an outstanding digital... Read full review »

Best value in DSLRs

Pros Low noise at high ISO, Build quality, 5 frames per second
Cons No spot metering, Small RAW buffer

I bought this as a replacement for my Digital Rebel. I wanted a DSLR that shot at a fast enough frame rate for outdoor sports, and that didn't feel like a plastic toy the way the DR did. Rather than get a 10D, I decided to wait for the 20D. I'm glad I did.

I was very impressed by the 20D... Read full review »

Cons Nothing of consequence.

In less than a year, I found myself buying my 3rd DSLR. I started off with the Digital Rebel early this year. Whilst I still think that it is a good camera, I find it a tad slow for my purpose, which is photographing birds in the wild. After missing many shots due to its slow continuous shooting... This is my 7th or 8th digital camera to date. I started with a half-megapixel JVC and remember being excited back then about its quality.

I currently own three (3) Canon digital cameras. I switched to Canon (from Nikon) just over a year ago and started out with their highly-rated 10D. I... Read full review »

I began my semi-serious photography hobby back in 1969 with a new Pentax Spotmatic 35mm SLR, confined by finances to black & white darkroom work, and color slides. My interest in photography waned during the child rearing years due to job and time constraints. When the new digital cameras came out,... Read full review »
